MGM Grand Detroit makes the list

DETROIT, Michigan — (PRESS RELEASE) — In its annual hotel guide, Gayot.com has named MGM Grand Detroit one of its Top 10 New U.S. Hotels of 2007.

Gayot described MGM Grand Detroit as, “a destination unto itself” and noted the property’s many amenities including its opulent lobby living room with a wall-long fireplace; telephones that serve as a “Butler” with color touch-screen technology that enable guests to access property information, schedule wake-up calls and connect to the Internet without picking up the phone; and in-mirror flat panel TVs in every guest bathroom.

Motor City Casino Hotel opens for business

The new Motor City Casino Hotel opens for business at 3 p.m. Wednesday. It’s part of the gambling hall’s ongoing $300 million expansion project. Its a 400-room, 17-story tower represents the best of what Detroit has to offer, including an automotive theme.

At about $5,500 a night, you can get the Presidential Suite that features high ceilings and expansive windows, a large room for entertaining, personal workout space and even a television hidden in the glass of a bathroom mirror.

motorcity Casino Hotel opens

In a reasonably low-key ceremony at 3 p.m. today, MotorCity Casino and local government officials officially opened the casino’s new 400-room luxury hotel.

The hotel is part of the casino’s permanent facility, being built on and around their existing complex at Grand River and the Lodge. The high rollers area and poker room were renovated and re-opened this summer.

Motor City Casino & Hotel Bets on Nortel

David Nehra, vice president and chief information officer for MotorCity Casino & Hotel said that the facility wants guests to have all the conveniences of home, whether they’re visiting on business or for pleasure.

He added that the goal is to enhance guests’ experiences through the utilization of technology without guests being aware its there. Nortel’s robust voice and data communications infrastructure is the linchpin that allows the hotel to provide an experience tailored to the unique needs of each guest.

MGM Grands restaurants hit the jackpot

A virtual city-within-the-city, the new MGM Grand Detroit casino deals up a full house of world-class restaurants.

The Wolfgang Puck Grille and Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak and Saltwater restaurants are sophisticated, beautiful and delicious.
