some of the best graffiti in the city of Detroit lies in a place called the Dequindre Cut, which is an old rail line that connects the East Riverfront (Rivertown, east of the Renaissance Center) and the Eastern Market. There are plans to turn into a green walking path and it is claimed that the graffiti will be preserved although there is great fear that it will not. Here’s some nice pictures of some of the graffiti down there in case you don’t have a chance to check it out in person. There used to be an illustrated map of the cut but I can’t seem to find it. Anybody have a link?
Great Artwork! I hope they leave it and even leave a free space to keep changing. This type of expression needs to be seen and is an intersting project with a walkway to get a dialog going in the community. I think it would push the artist in content and skills.
