Interested in living in Midtown Detroit? The University Cultural Center Association (UCCA) just published a guide in print and online called “Midtown Living…Detroit Style.” It’s a nicely done publication with lots of pictures and floor plans to really give you an idea of what’s available.
Midtown Detroit is the area bounded by the Lodge (M-10) to the west, the Edsel Ford (I-94) to the north, the Chrysler (I-75) to the East, and the Fisher Freeway (I-75) to the south, directly north of downtown/the CBD, and south of New Center. It comprises the Wayne State University campus, the Detroit Medical Center, the historic Art Center, Brush Park, Cass Corridor, and several historic districts. It also sits next to Woodbridge and Eastern Market.
The guide showcases several dozen new developments in the neighborhood, many loft and condo conversions of historic buildings and renovations of historic mansions as well as new construction. The guide is mostly for people interested in buying and has many deals for Wayne State students, faculty, and alumni. The UCCA web site has a good database of rental options as well.
